Bookkeeper £30K + Bens Full time
Guildford, Surrey
Elite Finance recruitment are working in partnership with an up and coming engineering company based in Guildford.
They are currently looking for a Bookkeeper to join their rapidly expanding business and become an integral part of the team. The Bookkeeper’s goal will be to support the Finance Manager to assist with company finances. This is a full time position, office based. However, there is a degree of flexibility and consideration will be given to adjusting the core hours to suit the needs of the successful candidate.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Balancing accounts (also known as 'double book keeping')
- Dealing with basic bookkeeping
- Processing and paying sales & purchase invoices
- Recording receipts and payments, including credit control
- Liaising with customers and suppliers.
- Preparing, checking and reconciling ledger balances and other monthly and yearly accounts
- Completing and submitting VAT returns
- Handling company expenses and payroll systems
- Using computerised accounting systems
- Reconciling company bank statements
- Preparing cash flow statements
- Understanding of PAYE & NIC
- Preparing monthly management accounts pack (potentially in the future)
Person Profile:-
- Highly computer literate with knowledge/experience of accounting packages (Quickbooks, ODOO)- Ability to work quickly, accurately and to deadlines, using a logical and methodical approach
- At least 5 years working in a small or medium sized business
- Qualifications such as AAT or equivalent
- Very good knowledge of Excel
- Demonstrate a calm and stable approach at all times
- Reliable
- Ability to work under own supervision and manage their own workload and tasks
- Flexible and able to manage priorities
