Elite Finance Recruitment are working in partnership with a multi-million £ turnover manufacturing company based in Gloucester. We are seeking a talented and dynamic experienced Accountant as a new Financial Controller reporting into the MD of this growing business.
If you are ideally a qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) and possess at least 3 years’ experience in industry then this could be the opportunity for you.
The Role
You will be the lead Finance contact on site, working very closely with the Managing Director in supporting the commercial growth and direction of the business.
Key responsibilities include;
- Oversee all company accounts.
- Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts.
- Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports.
- Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
- Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation.
- Responsibility for VAT and PAYE processing and returns.
- Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
- Develop budgets and financial plans for both companies based on research and data reports.
- Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities.
- Suggest updates and improvements for all accounting systems.
- Assist the MD in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members.
- Management of day-to-day accounting operations/team.
- Manage Inventory/stock accounting.
- Monitoring and reporting on accounting inconsistencies.
To undertake this role, you must be qualified (or Part-Qualified working towards completion of studies) CIMA or ACCA and have strong manufacturing and operational accounting experience.
In addition, you will:
- Be a confident and collaborative Financial Controller with experience of working with a strong leadership team.
- Degree qualified
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Have management experience/leadership skills.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
